The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to maternal and child healthcare, insisting that no mother should lose her life while giving birth.

She made this declaration during the commissioning of the 100-bed Senator Oluremi Tinubu Maternal and Child Specialist Hospital in Gombe State, a project executed by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs).

“This hospital is not just a building but a symbol of life, hope, and a healthier future for mothers and children,” Oluremi Tinubu said. She stressed that maternal and child health is a central focus of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, designed to ensure that every Nigerian child has a healthy start in life and that no mother dies while giving birth.

The First Lady appreciated stakeholders in the health sector and encouraged medical professionals, community leaders, and citizens to ensure the hospital provides healthcare with excellence, compassion, and integrity. She expressed confidence that the facility would significantly reduce maternal and infant mortality in Gombe and neighbouring states.

During her visit, Senator Oluremi Tinubu also inaugurated the ultra-modern New College of Nursing and Midwifery in Gombe, where she interacted with students who expressed gratitude for her presence.
