According to a statement signed by Sam Olumekun, INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, the parties met the deadline, and details of the candidates have now been published.

INEC confirmed that, in compliance with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act 2022, it has published copies of Form EC9 and other credentials submitted by each candidate and their running mates at the state headquarters and all 21 local government offices in Anambra.

The Commission encouraged public scrutiny and legal redress if necessary.

“Any aspirant who participated in his/her party primaries with reasonable grounds to believe that the information provided by a candidate is false can challenge the nomination in a Federal High Court as provided in Section 29(5) of the Electoral Act 2022,” Olumekun noted.

The Commission added that the final list of candidates will be released on June 9, in line with Section 32(1) of the Electoral Act, which mandates publication at least 150 days before the election. The Anambra governorship election is slated for Saturday, November 8, 2025.
