A violent confrontation took place in Kashikoko village, Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State, when suspected assailants from Anfani community attacked a couple, Aliyu Mohammed and his wife, while they were on their farm.
The incident, which reportedly happened on Friday, stemmed from a long-standing dispute over farmland ownership.
According to reports, the attackers severely beat the couple; the wife sustained injuries, while Aliyu Mohammed was abducted and taken to an unknown location.

Confirming the event, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, stated that a report was received on May 16, 2025, around 6 pm.
He explained, “The report indicated that at about 12 pm on the same date, one Aliyu Mohammed, 42 years old, and his wife, both of Kashikoko village via Doko, Lavun LGA, were attacked on their farm by suspected miscreants from Anfani community via Doko over a lingering farmland tussle.
“The wife was reportedly beaten and injured, while the husband was abducted to an unknown destination.”
SP Abiodun further revealed that the police have summoned the village head and youth leaders to work with them in efforts to rescue the abducted man, arrest those responsible, and ensure they face prosecution.
He added that investigations are ongoing, and updates will be shared with the public as the situation develops.
