Bayelsa Queens have once again etched their name in the history books as champions of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership.
After a flawless campaign at the Super Six tournament, the Prosperity Girls emerged victorious and were rewarded with ₦400,000 each for their outstanding performance.
Capping off their dominant run, Bayelsa Queens sealed the title with a convincing 4-1 win over Naija Ratels in their final match at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne.

The team also received a grand prize of ₦10 million from the league organizers, with more honours lined up by the Bayelsa State Government.
A Legacy of Excellence: Bayelsa Queens’ Sixth NWFL Title
Guided by coach Whyte Ogbonda, Bayelsa Queens maintained a perfect record throughout the Super Six playoffs, winning all five matches to secure 15 maximum points.
This triumph marks their sixth league title, further cementing their legacy as one of the most successful women’s football clubs in Nigeria.
Vera Samuel’s Hat-Trick Headlines Final Match Victory
In the title-deciding clash, forward Vera Samuel delivered a brilliant hat-trick, scoring in the 28th, 61st, and 67th minutes.
Midfielder Mega Cynthia added to the tally with a 47th-minute strike.
Although Naija Ratels’ Tumininu Adeshina temporarily levelled the score in the 42nd minute, Bayelsa Queens quickly reasserted their dominance.

Final Super Six Standings
Bayelsa Queens not only won every game but also delivered the tournament’s most commanding performances, highlighting their depth, teamwork, and tactical discipline.
Cash Rewards, Individual Honours, and State Recognition
Each Bayelsa Queens player received a ₦400,000 cash bonus from the club, in addition to the team’s ₦10 million league prize.
The Bayelsa State Government also plans to host the players and officials in Yenagoa in recognition of their victory.

Monday Gift, on loan from Robo Queens, was named Most Valuable Player and Top Scorer of the Super Six.
Gabrielle Ange Bawou, the team’s Cameroonian goalkeeper, won the Best Goalkeeper award.
Monday was also named Woman of the Match in their key win against Nasarawa Amazons.

As NWFL champions, Bayelsa Queens will represent Nigeria at the WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers—a gateway to the prestigious CAF Women’s Champions League.
