Ikire, a town in Osun State’s Irewole Local Government Area, was thrown into disarray on Sunday after the convoy of popular Fuji artist, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, was reportedly targeted by a group of suspected hoodlums.
The incident, which unfolded in the afternoon, involved the attackers pelting the vehicles with stones and allegedly firing shots at them.
A black Hummer bus and a white Hilux truck in the convoy were visibly damaged, according to eyewitnesses at the scene.

Though details remain sketchy, it has not been confirmed whether anyone in Pasuma’s team sustained injuries during the chaos.
A video capturing the incident has since gone viral, showing people in a state of panic. In the background, a voice is heard shouting in Pidgin English: “Kasala don burst for Ikire. They don attack us. They carry gun shoot us but God dey.”
Pasuma was said to be in the state for a performance, though the specific event has yet to be officially confirmed.
The attack disrupted business activities in the area and left many residents shocked. Attempts to get a response from the musician or his management team were unsuccessful as of press time.
The Osun State Police Command has yet to release an official statement or confirm if any suspects have been apprehended.

Security operatives have apprehended a suspected kidnapper, Yahaya Zango, at the Hajj camp located near the airport in Abuja, according to a report by Daily Trust.
A security source at the camp disclosed that the suspect was arrested on Sunday during the routine screening of pilgrims scheduled to be airlifted to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj exercise.
