The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has successfully facilitated the return of Adeola, the 41-year-old daughter of veteran Yoruba actress Jumoke George, four years after she was allegedly trafficked to Mali.

The development was confirmed on Monday by NiDCOM Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who made the announcement via a post on X (formerly Twitter).

“Breaking! Adeola, daughter of popular actress Jumoke George, who cried out that she had not heard from her daughter in four years, is back home from Mali, where she was trafficked to. Just received her, with Biola Adebayo who broke the story, and Niyi Johnson. Details later!” Dabiri-Erewa wrote.

This update follows a deeply emotional video that recently surfaced online, in which Jumoke George broke down while recounting her years of hardship and the agony of losing contact with her child.

The video, posted by actress Abiola Ayomide Adebayo, showed the veteran actress in tears as she described her deteriorating health, financial struggles, and prolonged homelessness.

“Dear Nigerians, please pray for me. I have never ruined anyone’s life. I am tired, I can no longer bear it. I don’t have a home, I don’t have anything, and a child of mine is missing,” Jumoke said through sobs.

She revealed that her daughter, Adeola, who turned 41 in May, had been missing for more than four years without a trace. Alongside the heartbreak, she also spoke of ongoing health challenges.

“I have been sick since January 2nd. I’ve done several tests and now need brain and heart scans. It costs N400,000, and I don’t know where to get the money,” she lamented.

The actress went on to disclose that she has been living inside a church building for nearly six years, relying entirely on the kindness of the congregation for food and shelter.

“It is true. I don’t have a house. I’ve been living in the church for five to six years. Most times, I’m fed by the church,” she explained.

Jumoke also opened up about her mounting debts and emotional toll.

“I don’t sleep. I’m always in pain. I’m in debt. You can go through my phone and see the transactions. You’ll see I have a lot of debts,” she added.

While full details surrounding Adeola’s return are yet to be released, her safe recovery marks a moment of relief in what has been a long and painful ordeal for the actress.

A Lagos Magistrate Court in Ogudu has remanded 22-year-old security guard Ifeanyi Kelvin Udoka in custody over allegations of raping a 4-year-old girl.

Magistrate S.K. Matepo ordered Udoka’s detention at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending advice from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
