Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, has named actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele as her biggest mentor while declaring her ambition to pursue a career in acting.

The 23 year old star made the revelation on Tuesday at the prize presentation ceremony in Lagos, where she was officially handed her winnings of ₦150 million and a brand-new SUV.

Reflecting on her time in the Big Brother house, Imisi said the experience rekindled her love for acting and gave Nigerians a chance to see her natural talent.

“I think people saw a lot of my acting side while I was in the house. Even my fellow housemates said I’m a natural actress. I’m ready to do more,” she said.

She went on to describe Funke Akindele as her number one mentor, adding that she dreams of working with the celebrated filmmaker. Imisi also mentioned that she admires actresses Bimbo Ademoye and Bolaji Ogunmola, who continue to inspire her.

Speaking about her victory, the BBNaija Season 10 winner said she was overwhelmed by the support and thanked her fans across Nigeria. When asked if ethnic backing played a role, she admitted Yoruba people are known to support their own, but stressed that her authenticity and vulnerability were what truly won people over.

She also acknowledged her Celestial Church community for their prayers and support. Looking ahead, Imisi said she is ready to learn, grow, and remain intentional about building her career in the entertainment industry.

“Fame is new to me, but I’m ready to learn and grow. I’ll seek mentorship and be deliberate about my next steps,” she added.
