The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Seme Command in Badagry, Lagos, has confirmed that Mrs Ladi Abel, the wife of an immigration officer, has been abducted by suspected kidnappers.

According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Isaac Elijah, the incident occurred on Monday morning along the Badagry-Mile 2 Expressway.

Mrs Abel, aged 45, had left her home in the Sawmill area of Badagry around 7:00 a.m to purchase goods at the Trade Fair Complex when she was seized by gunmen.

Elijah revealed that shortly after the abduction, the kidnappers contacted her husband, CSI Abel Mada, using her phone and initially demanded N7 million for her release. However, they later reduced the ransom to N3 million, warning that her life was at stake if payment was not made.

He confirmed that the case had been reported to the Badagry Police Division as well as the Area K Zonal Command of the Nigeria Police Force.

The NIS spokesperson appealed to residents and anyone with vital information to assist both the family and security operatives in locating and rescuing the immigration officer’s wife.
