She described Ozor Luke as a loving and devoted man who lived a full life, prioritizing his family above all else. Despite the heavy grief from losing both her husband and father-in-law in such a short span, Jennifer found solace in her faith, referencing the scriptures John 5:28-29 and Acts 24:15 to express hope in the promise of resurrection.
She wrote, “Barely a month ago, I was with you in Enugu… Some days later, Reme (my mother-in-law) called, asked how I and her boys were doing, and then told me that her husband had gone to meet my husband. I screamed but had to quickly compose myself as she began to cry.
“Ozor Luke Odonwodo was a man who genuinely loved me, and I am so thankful I got to spend time with him, albeit unknowingly, in his final days.
“He passed as an octogenarian who lived a good life, paid his dues, sacrificed greatly for his family and loved ones, and happily reaped the fruits of his labour.
“Reme, Nwanyiomam, this is truly a lot within one year, but I pray God grants you and all of us the strength to keep pushing, no matter how hard it seems.
“Adieu, Father and Son. You are sorely missed, but we hold onto the promises of resurrection in John 5:28-29 and Acts 24:15. Ozor Luke Odonwodo and Junior Pope Odonwodo, may your gentle souls rest in perfect peace until we meet to part no more.”
Jennifer and her family recently observed the one-year anniversary of her late husband’s passing with a touching remembrance ceremony.
