The Olubadan-In-Council has officially nominated Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The nomination was made on Monday during a meeting held at the Olubadan Palace, located in Oke-Aremo, within the Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State. However, the newly nominated monarch was not present at the meeting.

Speaking during the session, the Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, confirmed the council’s unanimous decision.
“We (members of the Olubadan-In-Council) have all signed and nominated Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland,” he said.
Oba Ajibola also disclosed that the nomination resolution would be sent to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, who is expected to set a date for the official presentation of the staff of office to the new Olubadan.
“We will forward the resolutions of our meeting to our Governor, Seyi Makinde. He will now pick a date to present a staff of Office to the new Olubadan,” he added.
He further noted that the funeral of the late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, would take place this week, which makes it unlikely for the installation to happen within the same period.
“The late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, will be buried this week. So, this week is not feasible. He (Makinde) may decide to pick three weeks, two weeks or one week,” Oba Ajibola stated.
