EFCC Cracks Down on Cybercrime, Arrests 55 Suspects in Ogun | Daily Report Nigeria

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Ibadan Zonal Directorate has arrested 55 individuals suspected of internet fraud during an operation in Ogun State.

The arrests took place on Wednesday, July 6, 2025, at K Hotel in the Itori area of Ewekoro Local Government, following credible intelligence linking the suspects to online criminal activities.

Items seized during the operation include six luxury cars, two homemade pistols, a motorcycle, numerous laptops, mobile phones, incriminating documents, and 89 unclaimed phones believed to be used in cybercrime.

The suspects are cooperating with EFCC investigators and have supplied information to support ongoing investigations. They are expected to be arraigned in court once the probe is concluded.

Four Family Members Found Dead in Borno Village, Generator Fumes Suspected

Residents of Chatta village in Hawul Local Government Area, Borno State, are grieving the mysterious deaths of four family members.

The victims have been identified as Yakubu Samanja, his wife Esther Yakubu, and their two children, Amos and Maryamu Yakubu.
