Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has shared the funeral plans for his late parents, Chief Nwabali Godspower Onyekamu and Mrs. Grace Nwabali (née Mmai), describing the loss as deeply painful and unimaginable.

On Friday, Nwabali took to Instagram to reveal the burial details and express the profound grief he is feeling.

He wrote, “It’s time to lay my dad and mom to rest—something I never expected to face at this stage of my life. It’s hard to accept that I will never see them again. This pain is unlike any other, and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Thank you for everything.”

According to the family’s announcement, the funeral events will span three days, beginning on Thursday, June 5, 2025, with a Service of Songs scheduled for 5 p.m. at the late Chief’s residence on Osafu Lane, Okwuzi Egbema in Rivers State.

On Friday, June 6, the body of Mrs. Grace Nwabali will be moved from Gbegbe Hospital Mortuary in Omoku to her father’s compound and later to her husband’s home, where she will lie in state from 11 a.m. The final burial ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 7.

The remains of Chief Nwabali Godspower will leave Gbegbe Hospital Mortuary at 9 a.m. and be taken to his maternal home, where the Okwuzi Council of Chiefs will receive them at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m., the body will rest at his residence, with burial and other funeral rites beginning at noon.

Following the burial, guests will be welcomed and entertained at CPS Okwuzi Egbema.

Chief Nwabali Godspower passed away at the age of 72, while Mrs. Grace Nwabali was 63 when she died.

The family expressed their gratitude to all who have offered support and invited friends and loved ones to pay their respects and celebrate the lives of their parents on June 6 and 7.
