Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has said that all internal matters within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are being resolved amicably, describing the ongoing disagreements as “a family affair.”
Speaking in Abuja after presiding over the inaugural meeting of the Accommodation Sub-Committee of the PDP National Convention Committee, Adeleke, who serves as Deputy Chairman of the Convention and Chairman of the Sub-Committee, assured that the party remains united and ready for its national convention slated for November 15 and 16, 2025.

“We have resolved all outstanding issues to ensure the convention proceeds smoothly. We believe it will be very successful,” Adeleke told journalists after the meeting.
He dismissed media reports of deepening divisions within the PDP, stressing that the party had a longstanding culture of internal organisation and respect for due process.
“We are meeting and resolving our issues internally. It is a family affair. We do not want anyone outside to add sugar, pepper, or salt to the matter,” he said.
Adeleke also downplayed reports of defections by party members to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing such movements as a normal political occurrence that would not weaken the PDP’s influence.

“Anybody, whether a governor or a minister, has the right to make their decision. That does not change anything in the PDP,” he said.
The governor further clarified that his attendance at social events hosted by APC members should not be misinterpreted as a sign of defection.
“If I have friends in the APC and they invite me to a wedding or social function, I will attend. That doesn’t mean I’m joining them,” he explained.
Adeleke expressed confidence that the forthcoming convention would strengthen the PDP’s internal unity and organisational structure, adding that the party would “continue to grow from strength to strength.”
