A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Alaowei Promise Lawuru, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term.
The President of Egbema Brotherhood also called for Southerners to support the 2027 presidential ambition of the incumbent president.
Lawuru made the call on Monday while playing host to a coalition of youth leaders at his office in Warri, Delta State.
The team led by Arerebo Yerinmene, National Coordinator of the Ijaw Interest Advocates, described Lawuru as a role model championing the interest of Ijaws.

“This solidarity visit is owing to his social antecedents as a role model. Today , in national politics, it is only important that we solidarize and queue behind him so that he will have more strength while negotiating for the future of Ijaw people”, Arerebo said.

“By the resolution of this meeting, we will continue to enhance our support for him so that we will be able to achieve a lot more.
“All of us are aware that our common enemy in this part of the country is underdevelopment, but with this kind of partnership and synergy we are building now, we will ne able to achieve tangible results,” he added.
On his part, Chief Promise passed a vote of confidence on Tinubu and called for southerners to rally behind the president’s ambition in 2027.
“The primary conclusiveness from this meeting is the need for us to support one another. In that vein, we passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Tinubu, that Nigerians should give him another four years,” Lawuru said.
Lawuru condemned the recurring pattern of northerners forging coalitions against southern presidents in a bid to edge them out of office, saying that southerners would not allow themselves to be used to unseat a fellow southern president in 2027.
Making reference to the outcome of the 1993 and 2015 elections, Lawuru said;
“Every electoral cycle where there is a southern president, coalitions have sprung up to disable his government. In 1993, the election of Moshood Abiola was annulled because he was a southerner.
“In 2015, a coalition came to life and edged out a sitting southern president in Goodluck Jonathan. This time, southerners will not allow themselves to be used to unseat a southern president in Tinubu.
“In the shortest time possible, the world will see the body language of the southern people, and our bold message is that one Nigeria means fairness to all Nigerians.”
