Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Tinubu, delivered a moving tribute at the funeral reception of the late Deaconess Eno Nnana Usoro held at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. He described her as a woman whose life reflected grace, deep faith, and unwavering dedication to humanity.
Shettima highlighted that Ms. Emem Nnana Usoro, the CBN Deputy Governor, is “a mother’s dream fulfilled,” saying her achievements in public service represent the fruit of a mother’s faith and discipline. “Her story is one of sacrifice, prayer, and perseverance,” he said.

He noted that Deaconess Usoro was not only a devoted mother but also a mentor to women, a pillar in the church, and a benefactor to the less privileged. “Her life was a sermon in compassion and humility. Excellence without empathy is emptiness,” Shettima remarked.
The Vice President further urged Nigerians to emulate her life of faith and service, saying, “Those who live in the service of others never truly die; they live on through acts of goodness in their name.”
Governor Umo Eno described the late Deaconess as “a woman whose life’s ovation echoed long after her passing,” commending Ms. Emem Usoro for honouring her mother with dignity and grace. He thanked the Vice President for personally attending the ceremony.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio also paid tribute, describing the deceased as “an angel heaven is proud to receive.” He praised the Usoro family for their humility and contribution to Akwa Ibom State’s image.
Other dignitaries at the event included Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; members of the National Assembly; CBN executives; and top government officials. They joined friends and family in celebrating a life well-lived, one defined by faith, service, and motherhood.
