Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has reacted strongly to a warning issued by Tanzanian media personality Mage Kimambi, who advised Priscilla Ojo and her husband, singer Juma Jux, to stay off social media for a few months in light of political unrest in the country.
Kimambi, in a post shared on Instagram, urged the couple to avoid posting any content online for at least five months, claiming their visibility could further complicate tensions within the country.
Iyabo Ojo, clearly displeased, took to her own Instagram account to address the issue. She condemned Kimambi’s remarks, describing them as disrespectful and an attempt to intimidate.

“I’m appalled by your audacity! Referring to my daughter and her husband in such a manner, calling their content stupīd, and trying to drum fear and intimidation is unacceptable,” she stated.
“As a parent, I’ve taught her to be confident and authentic.”
Responding to speculation about the source of funding for the wedding festivities, the actress clarified that everything was sponsored by her family. “Regarding the wedding rumours, it’s not your government that gave us money; it’s a cultural tradition in my family,” she added.
Iyabo, who is also known for her activism, pointed out that she stands for truth and fairness without resorting to insults or intimidation. “I’m an activist, and as one, I stand by my principles and fight for what I believe in, without insulting anyone or targeting anyone. True leadership requires presence and courage.”
She wrapped up her post with a firm message to Kimambi: “Keep my daughter out of your affairs. She’ll post what she likes, when, and how she likes. She doesn’t need you to love her. She is very loved and well-loved. We protect our own. Never forget that.”
The actress’s post has since stirred reactions online, with fans and supporters praising her for standing up for her daughter.
