Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has reaffirmed that every part of the state will feel the impact of his administration’s ongoing infrastructure development, stressing that no community, rural or urban will be neglected.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, the governor dismissed claims that his government was ignoring certain areas. He described the allegations as “political mischief,” insisting that the current projects cut across all zones and are not limited to select communities.

Akinmade revealed that the state is simultaneously working on four major highways within the Ifo, Sango-Ota, and Idiroko axis despite their classification as federal roads. According to him, the 140-kilometre Abeokuta–Lagos expressway, as well as the Sango–Idi Iroko road, are being reconstructed by the Ogun State Government due to their economic importance.
He explained that 22 kilometres of the Sango–Idi Iroko corridor have already been completed, covering areas like Ijoko, Agbado, and Alagbole.
The governor’s media aide also listed several completed projects in the Ifo–Ado-Odo–Ota axis, including Ikorita Meta, Olose Titus Vespa Road, Olumo Spur Road, Toyin–Agbado Road, Akute–Denro–Ishasi Road, Hercules–Giwa Road, and the major Akute Bridge stretch.
Other completed or ongoing projects in the axis include the Atan–Lusada–Marogbo Toll Road, Alagbole–Ajulo Road, Bible College Road in Ado-Odo/Ota, and additional interventions on multiple strategic streets.
Akinmade noted that Governor Abiodun inherited a massive infrastructure deficit when he assumed office in 2019, including long-neglected roads in Ota and Itele–Lafenwa. He added that the ongoing reconstruction of the Sango–Ijoko–Oke Aro–Akute road (30 km), Sango Ota-Papalanto-Abeokuta road (140 km), and the 63-kilometre Sango-Idiroko road are already over 50 percent completed.
According to him, the much-talked-about Ota–Itele–Lafenwa road is already captured in the 2026 budget.
He urged residents not to fall for opposition propaganda: “People should be careful of those trying to whip up anger for political gain. The same people shouting today did nothing when they had the chance.”

He also stated that the evidence of progress is clear: “At a time when our state is achieving feats such as a world-class airport, global standard sports complex, the largest cement factory in West Africa, and massive road construction, we must not allow noise makers to rewrite history.”
Akinmade reaffirmed that Governor Abiodun will continue working “until the last day of his tenure,” promising that the ongoing development sweeping across the state will reach every community.
