Tension is rising within the family of Nigeria’s Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, after his in-law, Patience ‘Pat’ Akpabio, went public with a series of serious allegations against him. In recent videos posted online, Patience alleged that the former governor had been involved in fraud, sexual misconduct, and even rape.

She claimed that there was a period when the Senate President “almost got arrested” in France over an alleged rape case. According to her, the incident was suppressed to avoid public scandal.

Patience also mentioned that the accusations made months ago by Senator Natasha Akpoti were true, insisting that there were hidden files and evidence that she is prepared to reveal. In one of her videos, she stated:

“You have not even finished dealing with Senator Natasha’s issue. Whatever Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan said about the Senate President is 100% true. The French authorities almost arrested you. We will reopen the file.”

The videos have been shared widely, creating a storm of reactions. While Patience maintains her stance, critics say the accusations may be connected to a family disagreement. As at the time of writing, Godswill Akpabio has not commented on the claims.
