- Locals plead for government action as fear and displacement spread across the area.
Residents of Doguwar Dorawa, a quiet farming settlement near Guga in Bakori Local Government Area, said the bandits arrived around 10 pm., moving on foot after hiding their motorcycles in the bush. According to eyewitnesses, the village was surrounded before the attackers started killing and abducting people.
The two victims: Alhaji Bishir and Alhaji Surajo were described as respected elders whose guidance and leadership had kept the community united.

A community leader, Mahadi Dani ta Guga, recalled the horror: “They slaughtered them like animals. They operated for over an hour. People were crying, but nobody came to help.”
Villagers said the bandit attack in Katsina raises more doubts about the so-called peace dialogue between local authorities and bandit leaders.
“Every day, we are attacked,” Guga said. “This peace agreement is not working. Our people are dying.”
Residents believe the attackers are connected to two known bandit commanders operating around Bakori and neighboring villages, Idi Abasu Aiki and Kwashen Garuwa.

While Doguwar Dorawa was being terrorized, another nearby settlement, Layin ’Yannehu, was raided the same night, and livestock was stolen. Similar cases have been recorded recently in Ganjar, Alhazawa, and Gidan Nagari, where more than 40 residents were taken and families displaced.
The absence of an official statement from the Katsina State Government or Bakori LGA has left the community feeling neglected and abandoned.
