The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, as the winner of the Anambra State governorship election.
Soludo, the incumbent governor, defeated 15 other candidates after securing overwhelming victories across the state’s 21 local government areas, reaffirming APGA’s stronghold on the state.

According to official results released by INEC, Soludo polled 422,664 votes, while his closest rival, Hon. Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), garnered 99,445 votes. The Labour Party (LP) trailed with 10,505 votes, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) finished with 1,401 votes.

The election, conducted in 5,720 polling units across the state, was largely peaceful and saw high voter turnout in several LGAs. Soludo’s performance was dominant in both urban and rural centres, winning by comfortable margins in all declared areas.
Among the results declared, Aguata LGA recorded one of the highest figures for APGA with 35,559 votes, while Anambra West LGA delivered the party’s strongest showing with 71,365 votes against APC’s 16,595 votes.
Following the final collation at the INEC headquarters in Awka, the State Returning Officer, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, officially announced Soludo as the duly elected governor of Anambra State.
INEC praised the conduct of voters, security agencies, and election observers for ensuring a credible process, even as it urged political parties to accept the results in good faith.
