The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed the death of a TikToker, Endurance Udeke, who reportedly jumped from a four-storey building during a sting operation in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State.
According to the agency, the incident occurred on November 4, 2025, when EFCC operatives stormed Periwinkle Estate for an internet fraud-related operation. The commission said the exercise went smoothly until Udeke and another occupant of apartment W6a attempted to flee through the window to avoid arrest.

“Operatives of the Commission were in the estate to carry out a sting operation. Four suspected internet fraudsters were arrested. However, Udeke and another resident of apartment W6a got wind of the operation and tried to escape arrest by jumping down from the four-storey building,” the EFCC stated.

While the second resident survived after treatment, Udeke was pronounced dead despite medical efforts to save him. The EFCC described the fall as a “suicidal action”, noting that there was no direct confrontation or contact between its operatives and the deceased before the jump.
The Commission added that it had already reported the incident to the police, which has since commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
“The Commission expresses shock at the suicidal action of the deceased,” EFCC said, insisting that “no officer made contact with him before the incident.”
The incident has drawn public reactions online, with social media users questioning the frequent reports of tragic outcomes during anti-fraud operations.
