The 21st Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) brought Africa’s brightest film talents together on Sunday, honouring the best films, directors, and actors of the year. The ceremony, held at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, was a celebration of African storytelling, creativity, and cinematic excellence.

Nigeria’s “3 Cold Dishes,” a multilingual thriller co-produced by Burna Boy and Osas Ighodaro, was among the biggest winners, taking home Best Nigerian Film and Best Young/Promising Actor for Ruby Akubueze.

Lateef Adedimeji was awarded Best Actor in a Leading Role for his powerful performance in “Lisabi: The Uprising,” while Tina Mba received Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her work in “The Serpent Gift.”

South Africa’s “The Heart Is a Muscle” dominated the night, winning Best Film, Achievement in Cinematography, Achievement in Editing, and Best Debut Feature for director Imran Hamdulay.
