Addressing ministry officials, Doro outlined his mission to lift over 60 percent of Nigerians currently experiencing multidimensional poverty. He emphasised the importance of collaboration, accountability, and leveraging the experience of staff to achieve tangible results.
“I have lived in the UK for over two decades, so there will be some adjustment,” Doro said. “But with your expertise and my willingness to learn, we can take this ministry to greater heights. Our goal is to renew hope for Nigerians, especially those at the bottom of the economic ladder.”
Doro highlighted the scale of poverty in Nigeria, noting that more than 60 percent of citizens are multi-dimensionally poor. “It is our duty to help these people move up. Through teamwork, accountability, and strategic use of resources, we can make social mobility a reality,” he stated.

The minister also stressed the role of trust within the ministry. “A team is not just people working together; it is people who trust one another. Trust is critical to achieving our objectives,” he said.
Reflecting on the legacy of his predecessor, Doro acknowledged the challenge ahead but expressed confidence in the ministry’s capable staff. “I am stepping into big shoes, but with your support, I am confident we can achieve our targets and serve Nigerians effectively,” he added.
