The Federal Government, FG through the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), has paid N3.9 billion in arrears to 91,146 eligible pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme.
The payout follows the N32,000 pension increment approved by President Bola Tinubu, providing relief to retirees across parastatals, civil service, police, customs, immigration, and prisons.

Parastatals: N1.9bn to 59,865 pensioners
Civil Service: N830m to 12,976 pensioners
Police: N620m to 9,689 pensioners
Customs, Immigration & Prisons: N551m to 8,616 pensioners

PTAD Executive Secretary, Tolulope Odunaiya, emphasized that the payment reflects the government’s commitment to dignity, financial security, and timely support for retirees.
Odunaiya said, “Our pensioners deserve timely payment, and we are working to ensure no eligible beneficiary is left behind. This is part of our ongoing strategy to eliminate arrears and enhance transparency in pension administration.”
