“I have gone through this for the first and second birth; he divorced me because I was giving birth through CS. He can’t stay with me. But Alhamdulillah for everything. I lost the first baby, I am now with the second born. Alhamdulillah. May Almighty Allah reward and bless anyone that is going through hard times,” Sumayya wrote.

In the post that inspired her response, Buithat Hudu criticized men who judge women for their mode of delivery, emphasizing that childbirth, whether natural or via CS, requires immense strength. “The way some men speak about their wives as if they were not birthed by a woman is nauseating,” Hudu wrote. “Your mother endured the same process to bring you into the world that your wife does to bring your children into the world. If you cherish your mother, you should also honor your wife.”

Sumayya’s story has reignited discussions about the social stigma surrounding caesarian births in Nigeria, highlighting the need for support, understanding, and respect for all mothers, regardless of how they deliver their children.
