Rapper and social activist Folarin Falana, widely known as Falz, has issued a bold call for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to step down, saying the worsening insecurity in Nigeria has shown the administration’s inability to protect its citizens.

In a strongly worded post shared on his X account on Wednesday morning, Falz expressed deep frustration over what he described as the government’s slow and insensitive response to the wave of kidnappings, mass killings, and violent attacks spreading across different parts of the country.

According to him, the daily tragedies unfolding have made it clear that the government has failed in its responsibility.

“You have consistently shown your unwillingness to protect the lives and property of our people despite pretending to care in the past. RESIGN NOW!” Falz wrote.

The rapper condemned the “relentless and senseless bloodshed,” pointing to communities repeatedly attacked by bandits, families torn apart by kidnappers, and rising urban crime that has made safety a privilege instead of a right. He stressed that the President has fallen short of his constitutional duty.

“How many more people have to be kidnapped and murdered in cold blood? How many more lives do you want to waste? How many more futures do you wish to erase with your incompetence and inaction? @officialABAT,” he added in another post.

Falz’s comments quickly went viral, triggering heated discussions across social media. Many applauded him for speaking boldly at a time when frustration is at its peak, while others argued that asking the President to resign may not be the most effective path toward tackling insecurity in Nigeria.

His remarks have added to the growing public outcry demanding urgent and decisive action from the government as insecurity continues to spread across the country.
