The England international delivered three sharp, confident finishes after Leandro Trossard’s opener, putting on the kind of performance Arsenal fans had been eager to see since his £60 million move from Crystal Palace in August.
Eze, 27, had endured a slow start to life under Mikel Arteta, but against the club he once considered joining, he exploded into life, steering Arsenal six points clear at the top of the Premier League.
“That’s a good one, man. Enjoyable day,” he said after the match. “To help the team win today was special. Words can’t explain this one.”
Once rejected by Arsenal as a teenager, Eze’s rise has been anything but linear. Now one of the Premier League’s brightest talents, he said his performance was a result of faith and patience.
“I prayed for it,” he said. “I prayed for a hat-trick, and God gave it to me. Having my family here makes it even more special.”
Before Sunday, Eze had scored only twice in 15 appearances for the Gunners, but his explosive display showed exactly what Tottenham missed when the midfielder chose Arsenal over Spurs.

His three goals marked the first hat-trick in a north London derby since 1978—a rare feat in one of football’s most heated rivalries.
Asked to pick his favourite strike, Eze went with his second, which came just 35 seconds after the restart with a crisp, composed finish.
“Maybe the second one. That was my favourite,” he said. “But they all matter because I’ve been working on getting into those positions.”
The win gives Arsenal a major boost in their hunt for a first league title since 2004, and with Eze finding form at the right time, their challenge only grows stronger.
