Rev Ezekiel Dachomo has raised fresh alarm over escalating insecurity in Plateau State, alleging that extremist groups are extorting residents to finance weapons for planned attacks during the Christmas season.

According to him, the funds are being mobilised to execute what he described as a coordinated “jihad” targeted at Christian communities.

“They have vowed we will not spend our Christmas this year. They say we will run with rice in our hands because they are ready for jihad,” he warned.

Dachomo emphasised the urgency of spiritual intervention, urging Christians nationwide to pray for Plateau communities under threat.

“Your prayer is more than AK-47. It’s more than rocket launchers. Let’s launch our prayers to heaven,” he said.

The cleric appealed for protection and global attention, insisting that the threats amount to a form of genocide.

“Christians must be safe. There is a genocide in Nigeria. Pray for us in Jesus’ name,” he pleaded.

The alarm comes amid repeated warnings by Plateau religious leaders over renewed attacks and rising fears ahead of the festive period.
