NNPCL reduces PMS pump price to ₦930 per litre, down from ₦945.

Price cuts follow Dangote Refinery and major depots lowering ex-depot rates by at least ₦10.

Private stations also adjust prices, fueling fears—and hopes—of a nationwide petrol price war.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced its pump price for premium motor spirit (PMS) after Dangote Refinery and major depot operators slashed their ex-depot rates.
A correspondent who monitored filling stations across Abuja on Thursday confirmed that NNPCL outlets have adjusted their selling price from ₦945 to ₦930 per litre, reflecting a ₦10 reduction.

The new price has already taken effect at NNPCL stations along Kubwa Expressway, Gwarimpa, Wuse Zones 4 and 6, and other parts of the Federal Capital Territory.
Private operators have also followed suit. Ranoil stations in Gwarimpa now sell at ₦935 per litre, down from ₦940, while MRS and AP Ardova outlets are dispensing petrol between ₦930 and ₦935.
The downward adjustments come after Dangote Refinery and depot operators—Pinnacle, Aiteo and others—reduced ex-depot fuel prices by at least ₦10, with rates now at ₦846, ₦845, and ₦844 per litre as of Thursday morning.
Speaking earlier with newsmen, the spokesperson of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Chinedu Ukadike, said petrol prices may drop further as the ongoing “fuel price war” among refiners and depot owners intensifies.
