Construction Worker Arrested for Stabbing Supervisor Over N10,000 Payment

The Boundary Police Division in Aluu is currently holding Joshua after he reportedly attacked his supervisor with a broken bottle along Obiri Ikwerre Road. The disagreement began when Sokari, who contracted him to move blocks to a construction site for N20,000, offered to pay N10,000 upfront pending job confirmation.

Witnesses told reporters that Joshua insisted on receiving the entire amount immediately, leading to a heated exchange that later turned violent.

Speaking from his hospital bed after regaining consciousness, Sokari narrated the incident in detail, saying:

“He did a job for me worth N20,000. I told him to take N10,000 first while I confirm the work. He refused. Later he came to where I was eating and still demanded full payment. The next thing, he broke a bottle and stabbed me.”

The victim further revealed that a food vendor, sensing danger, attempted to resolve the issue by paying the full amount from her own purse, yet Joshua still attacked.

“Even after collecting N20,000 from the woman, he stabbed me,” Sokari said painfully.

“I am now at Cottage Solution Hospital, Aluu. I’ve spent so much already. I need justice.”

Medical staff confirmed he sustained deep injuries and is still undergoing treatment. The Rivers State Police Command has acknowledged the arrest and says an investigation is currently underway.
