“The troops launched a rapid clearance operation, forcing the criminals to flee and abandon their weapons. Their intervention restored safety and movement along the route,” the Army statement read.

Recovered from the robbery scene were one AK-47 rifle, an AK-47 magazine, and three rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.

Later the same day, troops stormed Kufai Amadu in Takum LGA, rescuing two travellers who were abducted while travelling from Bauchi State. Four passengers had reportedly asked for directions in Amadu Town before being taken hostage.

The Army identified the rescued victims as Yusuf Musa and Muhammed Umar, who managed to escape during troop intervention. Search efforts are ongoing for the remaining two, Musa Danji and Yusuf, who were taken deeper into the bush.

Meanwhile, troops deployed to Iware, Ardo-Kola LGA, also executed an intelligence-driven raid in Garin Sambo, Tau Village, leading to the arrest of two suspects: Baba Wura Sambo and Mallam Adamu Darda. Recovered items include two pump-action guns, 13 live cartridges, two motorcycles, and four mobile phones.
