Governor Ademola Adeleke has been cleared by the Accord Party screening committee to contest the party’s governorship primary currently underway in Osogbo.
The committee chairman and National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod, confirmed the governor’s clearance on Wednesday, stating that Adeleke met all eligibility requirements and emerged as the sole aspirant for the party’s 2026 governorship ticket. He described the governor as a “worthy gubernatorial aspirant.”

Adeleke received his certificate of clearance from the committee and expressed appreciation to the party leadership, declaring readiness for both the primary and the general election. He said the Accord Party was prepared to secure victory in 2026.
The governor defected to the Accord Party on Tuesday night, a week after resigning his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party.
