Chairman Ikenga Ugochinyere stressed that the National Assembly could only broker effective resolutions after fully examining critical industry issues, including import licences and the capacity of local refineries to meet national demand.

“We urge both parties to cease all media commentary while the committee intervenes. Continued public exchanges could worsen the situation,” Ugochinyere said.

The committee assured that all matters, including petitions on the downstream sector, will be thoroughly reviewed during the engagement, promising resolutions that safeguard sector stability and national interest.
