The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Western Zone, has formally honoured Mr and Mrs Matthew Tonlagha in recognition of their outstanding contributions to community development, youth empowerment, and the overall progress of the Niger Delta.
The commendation was contained in an appreciation statement issued by the Western Zone leadership of the council under the chairmanship of Comrade Nicholas Tamaradenyefa Igarama.

According to the IYC, the philanthropic efforts and consistent support of the Tonlaghas have continued to inspire young people across the region, while reinforcing collective aspirations for unity, growth, and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.
