Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has declared that the political career of former presidential candidate Peter Obi ended after the 2023 general elections.
Speaking on The Clarity Zone Podcast, Bwala said Obi’s rise in 2023 was opportunistic, fueled by a political moment in which a major party chose a Muslim vice-presidential candidate,creating voter apathy among Christians that Obi leveraged.

“The majority of that community has now returned to President Tinubu, recognizing him as a leader who would not use religion against the interests of others,” Bwala added.
According to the adviser, Obi lacks the political structure and strategy to replicate his 2023 performance, and he is unlikely to secure even a quarter of the votes he received during that election.
