- Ikoyi-Ile residents panic over reported bandits’ attack plan
- Threat notes allegedly sent to the community by gunmen
- Five people killed days earlier in the same Oriire LGA
- Security concerns grow across Oyo communities near the park
Residents of Ikoyi-Ile, a quiet town in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, are living in fear over an alleged plan by bandits to invade their community.
The anxiety intensified after reports emerged that the gunmen had warned residents of a planned attack scheduled for Tuesday, January 20. According to sources within the town, the threat was conveyed through two handwritten notes, allegedly authored by the bandits.

Ikoyi-Ile falls within the same local government area where violence broke out recently at Oloka village, near the old Oyo National Park. On Tuesday, armed men suspected to be bandits stormed the area, opening fire and killing five people on the spot.
A resident, who spoke under anonymity, said the town has been thrown into panic.
“People are afraid to sleep. The message going around is that they are coming, and nobody knows what to expect,” the source said.
Community members are now calling on security agencies and the Oyo State Government to urgently step in, increase patrols, and prevent another bloodbath in the area.
