The Rivers State Police Command has invited a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tammy Danagogo, for questioning over an alleged plot to assassinate the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
The invitation followed a leaked phone conversation reportedly intercepted by security agencies, involving Danagogo and an already arrested suspect.

Although the police invitation letter sighted did not state the reason for the summons, a security source, who spoke anonymously, said it was connected to the leaked conversation currently in police custody.
According to the source, the discussion allegedly involved Danagogo and a Port Harcourt–based pastor, Tombari Joseph Gbeneol, who is already under arrest.
“The discussion was about a plot to bring Israelis to assassinate the Minister. The conversation has been intercepted and is with the police,” the source alleged.
When contacted for confirmation, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringo Koko, said she would verify the development and respond.

“Let me confirm and I will get back to you,” she said.
Police authorities had earlier arrested Gbeneol over the alleged assassination plot after intercepting a phone call between him and Danagogo.
During the monitored conversation, the suspects were said to have discussed plans to recruit Israeli nationals to carry out the attack on the former Rivers State governor.
The call reportedly ended with a suggestion to seek financial backing from Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to fund the alleged operation.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing as police intensify efforts to unravel the full details behind the alleged plot.
