AFCON 2025: Nigeria vs Morocco Head-to-Head, Prediction, Kick-off

3 Min Read
  • Nigeria cruise into AFCON semi-finals unbeaten
  • Morocco eye home glory after efficient run
  • Wilfred Ndidi suspended for Super Eagles
  • High-stakes clash set for Rabat tonight
The Super Eagles arrive in Rabat full of confidence after storming into the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations, determined to go one step further than last year’s runner-up finish.
Eric Chelle’s men have been one of the standout teams of the tournament, winning all three of their group-stage matches before delivering a commanding 2-0 victory over Algeria in the quarter-finals. Goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams sealed a result that many described as Nigeria’s most complete performance so far.
Nigeria, however, will be without midfield enforcer Wilfred Ndidi, who is suspended after picking up too many yellow cards. The former Leicester City man is expected to return should the Super Eagles reach the final. Raphael Onyedika is tipped to step into midfield in his absence.
There are also fitness concerns over Bright Osayi-Samuel, who limped off late against Algeria, while Cyriel Dessers has been ruled out after withdrawing from camp with a thigh injury.
Morocco, meanwhile, have lived up to their billing as pre-tournament favourites. The Atlas Lions have been clinical throughout the competition and brushed aside Cameroon in the quarter-finals, thanks to goals from Brahim Diaz and Ismael Saibari.
Despite dealing with several injuries earlier in the tournament, Morocco have received a boost ahead of the semi-final, although Azzedine Ounahi remains sidelined with a calf problem. Captain Romain Saiss is also unavailable after picking up an injury in the previous round.
Speaking ahead of the match, a member of Nigeria’s technical crew said: “We respect Morocco, but this team believes strongly. The boys know what is at stake and are ready for the challenge.”
