The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has formally welcomed renowned journalist and Ovation Magazine publisher, Dele Momodu, into its fold, describing his defection as a well-considered decision.

The party confirmed Momodu’s entry in a statement shared on its verified X handle on Friday, shortly after he officially joined the opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Momodu made his declaration on Thursday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, where he addressed supporters and clarified that his political move was not driven by personal ambition.

According to him, his decision to align with the ADC was guided by a desire to promote the collective interests of Nigerians, stressing that he was not contesting for any political office.

Reacting, the ADC expressed delight over his defection, noting that the former presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party had made the right political choice by joining the party.
