His comments followed recent remarks by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, who disclosed that Nigeria is working closely with the United States to curb the rising wave of insecurity.
According to Sani, the partnership must be decisive and uncompromising in its approach to rooting out terrorists wherever they operate.

He noted that three categories of people would be displeased with the development — terrorists themselves, individuals sympathetic to them, and those with hidden agendas who do not genuinely desire an end to terrorism in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Nigeria and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening security cooperation. Speaking at the opening of a bilateral Working Group in Abuja, Ribadu said the engagement marked the third high-level meeting with senior US officials since November 2025.
He described the relationship as one built on trust, candour and shared responsibility, stressing that discussions have moved beyond dialogue to concrete action aimed at combating terrorism, protecting civilians and strengthening accountability in conflict-affected areas.
