In Kano State, Governor Yusuf’s anticipated return to the APC comes shortly after his resignation from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), a development that has sparked mass defections across the state.

Recall that several high-profile political figures have already exited the NNPP, including members of the Kano State House of Assembly, eight federal lawmakers, and all 44 local government chairmen.

Speaking on the decision, the governor’s media aide, Bature Tofa, explained that Yusuf’s move was influenced by his political roots and his belief that the APC provides a more stable and reliable platform for effective governance.

Meanwhile, in Plateau State, preparations have been concluded for a grand reception of Governor Caleb Mutfwang into the APC, with the event scheduled to hold on Tuesday in Jos.

The ceremony is expected to draw prominent party leaders, including APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda; Senate President, Godswill Akpabio; several state governors; ministers; and other key stakeholders.

Describing the event as historic, the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee, Sir Joseph Ari, said Jos would become the centre of national political attention during the governor’s reception.
