Akpabio made the remark during a large reception rally held at the Jos Polo Ground, where Governor Caleb Mutfwangwas formally welcomed into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking at the event, Akpabio said President Tinubu has consistently demonstrated fairness in governance through his actions and policies.

“Let me place it on record that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration is the most Christian-friendly administration since the creation of Nigeria. He has shown this through his actions and deeds. He treats Christians and Muslims equally,” Akpabio said.

The Senate President also praised Governor Mutfwang for repositioning Plateau State at the centre of national political relevance, assuring residents of federal support in tackling insecurity.

“Mr Governor, I congratulate you for taking Plateau to the centre of national politics. Insecurity will soon come to an end in Plateau. You will not be left alone. We will support your government in all sectors to improve the lives of your people,” he added.

Akpabio noted that Mutfwang’s defection has now brought all states in the North Central geopolitical zone into the ruling APC, describing the development as politically significant.

He further reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to protecting Nigerians, regardless of religious background, stressing that the National Assembly would back efforts aimed at closing Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) campsnationwide.

“Government will do everything within its powers to safeguard Nigerians. We will support President Tinubu through the approval of funds to shut down all IDP camps across the country,” Akpabio stated.

In his response, Governor Mutfwang thanked party leaders and supporters, describing the rally as a historic moment for Plateau State.

“Today’s movement is a landmark. It is a clear declaration that the people of Plateau are ready to support the APC and return President Tinubu in 2027. This journey is about unity, peace and development,” Mutfwang said.
