- Victims abducted from a private home close to midnight
- Attack comes weeks after ex-Customs officer’s kidnapping
- Residents raise fresh fears over worsening insecurity
Tension has returned to Ora-Igbomina, an Osun State community on the boundary with Kwara, following a fresh kidnapping attack that occurred late Sunday night, barely two months after an ex-Customs officer was abducted in the same town.
Residents of Ora-Igbomina, located along the Osun–Kwara border, were thrown into panic on Sunday night after suspected kidnappers invaded the community and abducted victims from a private residence.

According to locals, the assailants struck a house along Aran–Orin Road, Papa area of Ora-Igbomina, a few minutes before midnight. The attackers reportedly moved swiftly, seizing their victims before fleeing the area.
A resident, who spoke under anonymity due to security concerns, said the incident has revived fears in the community.
“We are no longer sleeping with our eyes closed. This is happening again, and people are scared,” the resident said.
The latest incident occurred less than two months after Emmanuel Owolabi, a retired Customs officer, was kidnapped by suspected bandits right in front of his house in Ora.
As earlier reported, gunmen stormed the town on December 15, 2025, abducting Owolabi and leaving residents in shock. He was later released on January 12 at Oro Ago, a community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, after his family reportedly paid a ransom running into millions of naira.
Community members are now calling on security agencies and the Osun State Government to urgently step up patrols and intelligence operations in the Osun–Kwara border area, which they say has become increasingly vulnerable to criminal attacks.
