- Mohbad DNA test ordered by Ikorodu court
- Three overseas labs to ensure credibility
- All parties present during sample collection
- Results must match before final decision
The Ikorodu High Court has issued a fresh directive mandating three separate DNA tests to establish whether Liam is the biological son of the late singer, Mohbad.
The ruling follows repeated setbacks that stalled earlier efforts to conduct the DNA test, deepening tensions between Mohbad’s family and his widow, Wunmi Aloba.

Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, appeared in court with his legal counsel, Barrister Oladayo Ogungbe, who explained that the initial court-approved DNA process failed due to concerns over the suitability and credibility of the proposed testing facility.
According to Ogungbe, the court agreed that to eliminate all doubts, three foreign-based laboratories would be involved in the process. Each party will nominate one laboratory, while the court will independently select the third.
All samples will be tissue-based, and the court ruled that the results from all three laboratories must align before any conclusion is accepted.
“The three results must show the same outcome. This is what we have insisted on from the beginning. It shows we have nothing to hide,” Ogungbe stated.
He also clarified that Joseph Aloba will not bear the cost of the DNA tests and that all parties must be present during sample collection to prevent any form of manipulation.
Reacting to the ruling, Mohbad’s father expressed satisfaction with the court’s decision, saying he had no objections to the arrangement.
While Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, has consistently maintained that Liam is her late husband’s biological son, his father insists that only a DNA test can put the controversy to rest.
The court believes the latest order will finally bring clarity to the dispute, which has lingered for months.
The case has been adjourned to February 10.
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, and is yet to be laid to rest as legal proceedings continue.
