The Nigerian international spoke during a virtual session with players of Beyond Limits Football Academy in Ikenne, Ogun State, where he opened up about his journey to the top of world football.

The session was organised by popular content creator Smallie, with Osimhen joining the players via video call. Beyond words, the Galatasaray striker also supported the academy with a generous cash donation.

Beyond Limits Football Academy is the youth development arm of Nigeria Premier Football League champions Remo Stars, and it provided the perfect setting for Osimhen to reflect on his rise from hardship to success.

Speaking honestly, the former CAF African Player of the Year reminded the players that struggle is part of the journey.

“I know how it is to make it from the trenches, especially in football,” Osimhen said.

He explained that many successful footballers passed through the same difficult path the young players are facing now.

“Many of you are just like me. The others who made it out have gone through the same struggles you’re passing through today.”

Osimhen then revealed three key principles that shaped his career and helped him overcome setbacks.

“At the end of the day, three things worked for me, and I believe that if you apply them, it will work for you by the special grace of God.”

The first, according to the Super Eagles star, is faith.

“The first is to believe in God. It’s the most important.”

The second is hard work and resilience, especially when rejection comes.

“You also need to be ready for failure. You’ll be rejected. I’m speaking from my experience.”

Finally, Osimhen stressed the importance of education, humility, and good guidance, warning that talent alone is not enough.

“Make sure you’re educated, and make sure you have the right people around you. There are places your talent can never take you to that grace will.”

Osimhen’s message and generosity were widely praised, with many fans hailing him as a true role model for Nigeria’s next generation of footballers.
