Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, announced the dissolution of the State Executive Council on Thursday, February 12, 2026. The move takes effect immediately.

All commissioners and special advisers have been instructed to hand over responsibilities to permanent secretaries or the most senior officers in their respective ministries.

Governor Fubara expressed appreciation for the contributions of outgoing members and wished them success in their future endeavors.

The announcement was made in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onwuka Nzeshi.
