The Nigerian Army has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining kinetic and non-kinetic operations in Plateau State as the farming season approaches.

He noted that recent calm in Barkin Ladi stems from dialogue, conflict mitigation, and community efforts, but emerging threats like attacks on miners and rising cattle influx demand urgent action.
Under non-kinetic measures, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, has directed fertiliser distribution to farmers and herders to boost agricultural production and ease tensions. Special Forces units, sent by Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, will reinforce ongoing operations.
Oyinlola called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community heads to promote peaceful coexistence, educate youths, enforce community peace codes, and report suspicious activities.
“Our loyalty is to the Constitution and the collective safety of Nigerians. Security is a shared responsibility, and timely intelligence from communities is vital to act decisively against criminal elements,” he stated.
