Self-acclaimed social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has broken down emotionally over an alleged assault case involving a woman who reportedly lives alone.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, Otse posted a short clip narrating what the woman allegedly went through, based on her account. According to the lady, she had been battling insomnia and often relied on alcohol or other substances to help her sleep. On the day of the incident, she said she had taken alcohol but was still unable to fall asleep when she heard a knock on her door.

She alleged that after opening the door, a man forced his way into her apartment, pushed her, and hit her head against a refrigerator, causing her to lose consciousness. When she later regained consciousness, she claimed the man was already assaulting her. She further stated that she could not scream because she was restrained and had a cloth forced into her mouth.
Reacting to the woman’s account, Otse appeared visibly emotional in the video, keeping his head down for several minutes. When he eventually spoke, he said he has sisters, some of whom live with him, and expressed deep concern over the situation. He explained that although he does not know the lady personally or her social media identity, he has been trying to locate her and urged anyone with useful information to help him reach her so she can seek justice.
The activist also appealed to the public to contact his brother or send him an email if they have any relevant details that could help identify the victim or move the case forward.
In the same video, Otse read out a message allegedly sent by the suspect. According to him, the message claimed the man used a blade on the woman, causing her to bleed, and suggested they would “meet again” years later. The suspect allegedly stated that he had tried several times to get the woman’s attention but was ignored, except on one occasion when she complimented his scent. He also claimed to have paid heavily to obtain her address before carrying out the alleged attack.
The video has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing outrage and calling for a thorough investigation and justice for the victim.
