The Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday adjourned the trial of former Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Dibu Ojerinde, to April 30.
The matter, scheduled before Justice Mohammed Umar, could not proceed due to the judge’s absence.

The court was informed that Justice Umar was engaged in another official assignment, prompting the adjournment.
Ojerinde is being prosecuted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on charges bordering on alleged official corruption and abuse of office.

He is standing trial alongside four of his children — Mary, Olumide, Adebayo and Oluwaseun Ojerinde — as well as six companies said to be linked to him.
The firms include Doyin Ogbohi Petroleum Limited, Cheng Marbles Limited, Sapati International Schools Limited, Trillium Learning Centre Limited, Standout Institutes Limited and Esli Perfect Security Printers Limited.
The charge, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/119/2023, is one of the criminal cases filed against the former examination body chief
Ojerinde is also facing a separate 18-count charge over the alleged diversion of funds during his tenure at the National Examinations Council (NECO) and later at JAMB.
That matter is before Justice Obiora Egwuatu and has been fixed for March 25.
