- Cubana Chief Priest urges South East to align with Tinubu
- Says Tinubu made Buhari president and can do same for an Igbo man
- Comments follow monarch’s call for Nnamdi Kanu’s release
- Socialite insists opposition politics won’t benefit the region
Popular socialite and businessman Cubana Chief Priest has claimed that President Bola Tinubu has the political power to make an Igbo man president , if the South East supports him for another term.
Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, made the statement on Wednesday while reacting to a viral video involving a South East traditional ruler who appealed to Tinubu over the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

The monarch had called on the President to either release Kanu or return him to Kenya, where he was arrested before being brought back to Nigeria.
Reacting to the appeal, Cubana Chief Priest praised the traditional ruler for taking the issue directly to Abuja, describing the move as important because it placed the matter before the “seat of power.”
Writing in Pidgin English, the socialite said:
“God bless you, Your Royal Highness, for partaking in Nigeria. If Your Highness no go Abuja, how Asiwaju wan take hear this message? If dem no record this video play give una, dem for don call am sell-out say him go collect money.”
He went on to advise the South East to work with the current administration rather than remaining in opposition, stressing that alignment with power was more effective than confrontation.
“Alignment is key. We no fit fight government. Asiwaju go free MNK. His Royal Highness don put am for Baba body. Make we get along with Nigeria,” he wrote.
Cubana Chief Priest further argued that Tinubu won the 2023 Nigerian presidential election without substantial votes from the South East and could repeat the feat if voting patterns remain the same.
“Last election, Tinubu win without South-East, and e clear say him fit win again. So why not give am votes make e do wetin we ask for return?”
He added that Tinubu’s political influence should not be underestimated, noting that the President had previously helped install Muhammadu Buhari as president.
“He make Buhari president, a Hausa man. He make himself, a Yoruba man president. Wetin make you think say e no go make Igbo man president if we clearly support am for one more term?”
According to him, the South East’s best political interest lies in supporting Tinubu due to what he described as the President’s unmatched political structure.
“Igbo best stake dey with Asiwaju. Man get the best political structure for Nigeria. Make we no waste our votes,” he concluded.
It would be recalled that Dr Lawrence Agubuzu, the Eze Ogbunechendo of Ezema Olo Kingdom, recently appealed to Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu or return him to Kenya, a development that has since sparked nationwide debate.
